Promoting healthy living through
traditional martial arts training
Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese art practiced by millions across the globe. Tai Chi enhances your overall health and wellbeing, reduces stress and calms the
mind, promoting confidence and improving balance - not to mention being fun and social.
My name is Debbi Beattie and I have been practising Tai Chi Chuan (Taiji Quan) for over 10 years and teaching for over 7 years. My martial arts training has been under
the guidance of Wutan, the largest traditional martial arts school in the UK, based in Southampton and run by Master They Soon Tuan. I have learnt my skills under the direct teaching of my instructor
Audra Marshall, who has been with Wutan for over 25 years.
Audra was given the honour of being made an indoor student of Master Wu Song Fa. I am also learning Kung Fu under her guidance, so attend Audra's weekly classes when
possible in Brighton where she now lives. I along with all the other UK Wutan instructors attend monthly instructor training sessions at our headquarters in Southampton.
I teach yang style, both short and long forms, which are our school's foundation. I teach from a health and martial arts point of view. To compliment this within Wutan we also teach Hsingi, Bagua and Sun style.
I am currently running group classes in Cookham and Wooburn Green. You are welcome to come along for a free taster session.
In addition to the classes listed I also welcome enquiries for corporate clients or to teach private lessons.
